Why make pillows?

Every year we convert thousands of pounds of scrap designer textiles - which are otherwise designed for landfill into one of a kind pillows.

  • Molly started the company moonlighting at her “ career job” ……after decades in the design industry and a graduate of California College of Arts and Crafts ( now CCA). After a Friday clean up as the manager for over 7 years of a national architectural tile and stone manufacturer, she was walking to the dumpster to throw out heavy refuse. Over 30 Hefty bags of textiles. Hoping Gucci, Prada etc! from her thrifting fashion addiction since college, she returned to the dumpster after the 5 pm bell. She was surprised and intrigued to find thousands of “ mismatched” memo samples from the interior design industry.

  • The official start date of the company was April 2, 2011 and we estimate 17 Olympic sized pools of fabric have been diverted to landfill. That results in about ( 2500 ) per pool to 42,500 tons of fabric. The average male elephant is 2 to 5 tons. So being conservative that’s 17,000 !!! elephants of fabric!

  • The Collections

Due to the yield of some of the textiles ranging 6 x 6” of incredible pieces, Molly saw the need for the pillows to be designed as groups ( Collections ) instead of sold as pairs or multiples of one fabric .
